These live recordings are excerpts from a series of Friday night meetings, which we now call 'the Zadok nights.' Zadok, in a present day context is a ministry school that is held at The Foundry in Nashville, TN. Zadok is a journey ... a standard and a high calling. Zadok is training for the prophetic priesthood. In the Bible, Zadok, who's name means 'righteous,' first appears as a brave young warrior, and he evolves into and a high priest and a 'seer' (a prophet). Zadok set an uncompromising standard of loyalty as he remained faithful to King David when most of Israel had gone astray. Similarly, the Lord is preparing a prophetic priesthood to arise in our day, ones who will courageously remain faithful to the one True King - at any cost. They are the Sons of Zadok (see Ez. 44) -- a peculiar people who are devoted to purity, praise and prayer, and who hold unswervingly to God's standard of truth and justice in the midst of great compromise. The Sons of Zadok were commissioned to 'Teach My people the difference between the holy and the common, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.' (Ez. 44:23) The people that gathered for this first season of Zadok had one thing in common ... an insatiable hunger for God. During these wonderful nights we found ourselves wholly consumed with an ardent passion for the presence of Jesus, and for the beauty of His holiness to be realized in our lives. Night after night as we soaked in the presence of God, the Holy Spirit began to conform and shape our worship our expressions of spontaneous song which I call 'Spirit Music' -- music of the Spirit, for the spirit. When this Spirit music occurs the Lord begins to play through His people as instruments, and the Holy Spirit begins to sing whatever is on His heart for that moment. As He begins to improvise through the yielded worshipers, He is free to initiate His message, melodies, sounds, and rhythms. We call this a spontaneous song, or a spiritual song. I pray that this Zadok worship recording will be instrumental to draw you close to the Holy presence of the Eternal Flame ... and may you come forth, incandescent. It is an honor to share these experiences with you. Hold Fast to the LORD! Scott MacLeod.
